Vintage Zenith Chronograph panda a278 from the 1960s

Most people recognise vintage zenith watches through the well known El Primero line. The Swiss watch manufacturer has made many high-quality movements over the years, even getting recognised by one of the most famous brands in watchmaking: Rolex! For nearly 13 years Rolex used El Primero movements for their Daytona chronograph line. Today we are offering a special pre-El Primero Zenith chronograph from the early 1960s with a gorgeous Panda dial.

This beautiful chronograph was made in the early 1960s and runs on the hand wound 146DP chronograph movement. This is an incredibly well finished and reliable movement made by one of the best movement manufacturers around. The striking contrast on the dial between the black surface and the white sunken sub-dials creates a wonderful vintage look. This watch has a beautifully aged patina on its hour markers and in its hands further improving the vintage vibes on this watch. The 37.5mm stainless steel case features pump pushers without any crown guards and an original zenith signed caseback. The condition of this watch is excellent, with no signs of polishing and a few minor marks on the bezel and caseback.

What we love:

  • Rare panda dial
  • Reliable movement
  • Vintage size and feel

What you should know:

  • Small mark on the bezel and caseback
